Frequently Asked Questions:
My cat is indoor only, does he/she need rabies?

Yes. Rabies is required by law in New York State.

My cat has lost weight recently, is this normal?

If you have not been making a conscious effort with diet change and exercise to make your cat lose weight, no, it is not normal for a cat to lose weight suddenly. Weight change is a signal that your cat needs a check up.

When should I spay or neuter my cat?

We recommend spaying or neutering your kitten at 4-5 months of age. Although this surgery can be done as early as 8-10 weeks of age, we prefer to do the procedure when the patient is a little older. We do recommend that the spay be done before a female goes into her first heat because this greatly reduces the chance for mammary tumors in her future. Also, performing the procedure before your kitten reaches sexual maturity will hopefully prevent the urge to territorially scent mark with urine.
